It was a back and forth battle between the two teams. Stone City jumped out in front and got 2 runs in the first. Fury immediately came back and got 3 of their own. Stone City racks up another run in the 2nd inning to tie it up at 3 all. Fury tacked on 3 more in the 3rd inning. Stone City came right back in the 4th and got 2 back. At the end of 4 Fury held the lead 6-5. In the 5th Fury brings in another 3 runs which prove to be all they needed. Stone City was able to tack on another run in both the 6th and 7th inning but fall just short 9-7. The girls had a great day stealing the bases and positioning themselves to score runs. A couple of plays both offensively and defensively the team would like have back but the girls fought hard after being away for over a week.
Stone City strikes first and gets out to an early lead after the 2nd inning. Stone City shuts down Homewood for the first 3 innings with great defense and pitching. Mia has another great day on the mound and strikes out 8! After four full innings Homewood led 2-1. Stone City stayed patient at the plate and drew 3 walks and each of them came across the plate allowing Stone City to retake the lead after 5, 4-3. In the final inning of play Homewood got one back to even the game at 4 all. Stone City nearly scored and came up just short. Ending the game in a tie at 4-4. Payton had a great day offensively with 2RBIs. While, Hadley made several nice defensive plays in the field for crucial outs early on.
